StayValencia was founded by Oscar Navarro, a native Valencian, real estate investor and software professional based in Germany. With family roots in Cabanyal — the beach neighbourhood where our first property is — Oscar knows Valencia the way you only can if you grew up in it: which streets are quiet, where locals actually eat, and which neighbourhoods are worth investing in.
The founding problem was real: how do you manage a Valencia rental well when you live in Germany? The large property management companies charge 20-25% and treat owners like account numbers. The DIY platforms require you to be available every evening. Neither worked. So we built our own approach.
The team had the background — marketing, real estate law, years in Valencia's tourism industry, and the technical skills to build whatever was needed. The problem wasn't ability. It was that nothing we could find was built specifically for property investors managing from abroad.
Oscar Navarro, founderThe large management companies want to take everything off your hands at 20-25% commission — and they treat you like an account number. The DIY tools require you to be available every evening to answer guest messages. Neither worked for someone who knows Valencia intimately but lives in a different country and time zone.
So we built the approach we wished existed: direct bookings that save guests 15-18% vs Airbnb, remote management at 15-18% commission (not 25%), transparent monthly reports, and no lock-in contract. We achieved Airbnb Superhost status while managing entirely from Germany. StayValencia is now the platform we run for other property investors in the same position — people who know what they own, but don't want to spend their evenings answering guest messages from a different time zone.
